“I don’t think I had ever felt as beautiful as I did on my wedding day”

We love sharing our Dotty brides journey, from the moment the bride finds her incredible dress with us to the actual magical day itself. And here is one of our stunning newlyweds Natalie giving us all an insight to her bridal experience.

What was the highlight of visiting Dotty Bridal?
The environment was amazing. I wanted to try a specific dress and I went to Dotty Bridal as they stocked it. However, when I tried it on, it looked awful. It was just horrendous, and I was so disheartened. I am really tall and it just didn’t fit my hips or boobs, I thought I wanted Boho and floaty but it just didn’t fit right.
But Neve was amazing, she actually picked the dress for me that I ended up having. When she brought this fitted one out, I wasn’t sure and I tried it, and it fitted perfectly, I hardly needed any alterations. Everything about it was perfect. It is thanks to the training and skills that the team has that she knew it would suit me, but she didn’t force me to try it, she just said don’t worry there are other options. When I put it on, I felt so confident.

Was it what you expected?
Absolutely yes, and more! It was the first bridal boutique I went to, but I’d followed Dotty Bridal on social media for a while. I knew you were a bespoke boutique, with a really good range of designers. It was a 45 minute drive away but it was a really
special day. It was Mother’s Day, and I took my mum, grandma and auntie, and we had a few glasses of Prosecco in our room and it was just a really lovely, special day.

Tell us about the dress?
It was a fit and flare design and very, very plain with an asymmetrical pointed neckline and quite a long train in white Mikado silk.

What is one tip you’d give to brides-to-be searching for their perfect dress?
You must 100% keep an open mind, I didn’t! I absolutely thought I’d get a particular dress and when it looked awful, I just thought ‘what now?’ The dress I actually got, was the dress I would have least expected to choose, but it was absolutely ‘the one’. I don’t know what all my family and friends were expecting me to wear, but that wasn’t it, but I had so many compliments, people were crying when I walked down the aisle! Even my husband said he wasn’t expecting me to wear this dress, but I felt beautiful
in it. I don’t think I had ever felt as beautiful as I did on my wedding day and I don’t think I will again.

And finally, a bit about your wedding day…
We got married at The Moorlands Inn, in Halifax. We had a saxophonist and undercover singing waiters, we had 90 guests, four bridesmaids and two flower girls, including our daughter Nell, who was two at the time. It was everything we had wished for and more!

Thank you so much Natalie for sharing your magical bridal experience with us. You simply looked amazing in your Pronovias bridal gown and the images are simply divine.

With love always
