Bride Spotlight: Finding The One… and Then Another!

There’s something incredibly special about welcoming brides back through our doors - especially when they’ve already experienced a little bit of the Dotty magic before. For this beautiful bride, her journey with us began long before she was engaged, visiting as a bridesmaid and falling in love with the atmosphere, the energy, and the feeling that anything was possible. 

So, when it came time to find her own dress, there was only one place she wanted to return to. 

A Dream Appointment, Years in the Making 

From the moment she walked into Dotty Bridal with her mum by her side, the experience felt exactly as she had hoped - warm, relaxed, and full of excitement. Guided by Jo, her appointment became everything a bridal moment should be full of laughter, a few glasses of prosecco, and the freedom to explore every idea she’d ever had about her dream dress. 

Having imagined this moment since she was little, she wanted to fully embrace it - and that’s exactly what she did. 

“I’d been dreaming about my wedding dress forever, and Jo never made me feel silly for that. If anything, she encouraged it.” 

What made the experience even more special was the support of the wider Dotty team, popping in with encouragement and helping her feel confident, celebrated, and completely at ease. 

And in true Dotty style… she didn’t just leave with one dress. 

She left with two. 

Letting Go of Expectations 

Like many brides, she arrived thinking she knew exactly what she wanted. For years, she had envisioned a sleek, simple, princess-style gown. But after seeing someone else wear the very dress she’d saved for so long, she felt pushed to explore something completely different - something bold, glamorous, and full of sparkle. 

But once she started trying dresses on, something didn’t quite click. 

“The simple styles didn’t feel like me… and the glitzy ones felt a bit too loud.” 

This is where the magic really happens. 

With Jo’s guidance, the appointment became less about chasing a preconceived idea and more about discovering what truly felt right. It was a complete reset - and one of the most enjoyable parts of her entire wedding journey. 

The Dress She Never Expected 

In a twist she never saw coming, the dress she fell in love with was one she picked up “just for fun.” 

After trying on the styles, she thought would be “the one” (including a gown that brought her mum to tears), Jo suggested she try something different - Mae from Dotty the Collection, pictured below.

The moment she stepped into it, everything changed. 

“The way it hugged my body… I felt supported, confident, and completely me. It was like it had been made for me.” 

Despite previously ruling out strapless styles entirely, this was the dress that made her feel her best. Comfortable, flattering, and effortlessly “her” - it ticked every box she didn’t even know she had. 

Saying Yes (and Feeling Like Herself) 

For this bride, saying yes wasn’t about chasing perfection - it was about how the dress made her feel. 

“I’d been worried about my insecurities… but instead of trying to hide them, I just felt flattered. That’s when I knew.” 

That moment of confidence, of feeling truly herself, was what made the decision so clear. 

And although there was a small pang of sadness that the search was over, it didn’t last long. 

“The moment I put it on again on my wedding day, I felt incredible. Completely myself.” 

A Second Surprise: The Legal Dress 

What started as a plan to find something simple on the high street turned into another unforgettable Dotty moment. 

While exploring options, Jo introduced her to a dress named Jean - the same name as her grandmother. 

“It felt like fate.” 

Suddenly, what was meant to be a simple outfit became something deeply meaningful, transforming her legal ceremony look into something just as special as her main dress. 

A Wedding Full of Heart (and Party Energy) 

Her wedding unfolded across two beautiful days - a small, intimate church ceremony followed by a larger celebration the week after. 

Both days were filled with emotion, joy, and unforgettable moments - from walking down the aisle to dancing into the early hours surrounded by all their favourite people. 

“It wasn’t perfect or polished… but it was completely, wonderfully ours.” 

And when her partner saw her in her dress for the first time? 

“He got emotional… and that made me feel instantly calm. I just knew I was marrying my best friend.” 

Her Advice to Future Brides 

If there’s one thing she wants other brides to take away, it’s this: 

Enjoy every second. 

“Don’t limit yourself. Try everything - even the dresses you think aren’t you. You might be surprised.” 

Because sometimes, the dress you never expected… ends up being the one you can’t imagine living without.

We couldn’t fault any of our suppliers, but @koleevents were a standout. They completely transformed the space and brought our vision to life - worth every penny and a huge support throughout.

We also found many amazing suppliers through @Brideinmind. Alex has since become a friend, keeping everything on track and making the whole process far more enjoyable.

And finally, our photographer Hamish - he felt like a friend across both days and captured not just how everything looked, but how it truly felt.
