Can you tell us how your journey in this business began and what  inspired you to start the business?

The Woodman Inn has a long-standing history as a charming 18th-century country inn, but our journey into weddings began when we recognised the growing demand for intimate, character-filled venues in the heart of Yorkshire. With our stunning countryside setting, rustic charm, and dedicated hospitality, transforming The Woodman Inn into a boutique wedding venue was a natural step. Our passion for creating memorable experiences and seeing couples celebrate one of the most special days of their lives has driven us to continually enhance and perfect what we offer.

What’s your favourite part of your job or business? Is there a particular moment that has stood out to you over the years?

One of the best parts of what we do is seeing everything come together on the big day, from the excitement of morning preparations to the first dance under twinkling lights. A standout moment for us is always the look on a couple’s faces when they see the venue beautifully set up for the first time.

How do you help brides through their wedding journey?

From the moment a couple books with us, we offer guidance, support, and expertise to make the planning process as smooth as possible. We also work closely with trusted suppliers to ensure every detail reflects the couple’s vision, and we’re always available to answer questions, provide recommendations, and make sure the lead-up to the big day is stress-free.

What services or packages do you offer?

Our Garden Room is the heart of our wedding venue, providing a light-filled, beautifully designed space for ceremonies and receptions. Every package is tailored to the couple’s needs, with carefully curated wedding menus, drinks packages and overnight accommodation for the couple and guests.

What’s one piece of advice you’d give to brides?

Stay true to your vision and what feels right for you as a couple. It’s easy to get overwhelmed with all the choices and advice, but at the end of the day, your wedding should be about celebrating your love. Also, don’t stress the small details. On the day, the most important thing is soaking up every moment and making amazing memories with your loved ones.
