Bride Spotlight: A Dream Dress with a Touch of Greek Tradition

Sometimes finding your dream wedding dress happens exactly how you imagined. Other times, it happens when you least expect it. 

For this beautiful Dotty bride, her journey to “the one” began with a little uncertainty - but quickly turned into a magical experience she’ll never forget. 

A Last-Minute Appointment That Changed Everything 

“I had such an amazing experience when I came to Dotty and Amy helped me create my absolute dream dress.” 

Just a week before her visit to Dotty, she had tried another bridal store but left feeling deflated. Determined to keep searching, she booked a last-minute appointment at Dotty. 

“My appointment was first thing in the morning and I just had my mum with me.” 

It turned out to be exactly the relaxed, personal experience she needed. 

During the appointment, she discovered a skirt she absolutely loved - but wasn’t completely convinced by the top. Thankfully, with Amy’s guidance, there was a creative solution. 

“We were able to mix two dresses from the same designer together and I couldn’t have been more happy!” 

Expecting One Dress… Falling for Another 

Before arriving at the store, she had a very clear idea of the dress she thought she wanted. 

“I had found a dress on the website that I thought I wanted. Very plain, high neck and with a big bow on the back.” 

She even saved that dress to try on last, convinced it would be the one. But things didn’t quite go to plan - in the best way possible. 

“I didn’t even get to trying that one on because I found my dress first!” 

A Dress That Took Her by Surprise 

The dress she fell in love with wasn’t what she originally imagined at all. 

“I tried on my dress because I loved all the tulle and the drama of the bottom, but I didn’t love the shape of the top and the low V-neck.” 

But the moment she stepped into the dress, everything changed. 

“My mum said she could hear me behind the curtain putting on the dress saying ‘oh my god’ and she knew that it was the one!” 

When Amy suggested they could customise the top, it was the perfect solution. 

“I was absolutely obsessed and when Amy said there was a chance we could change the top, I was over the moon!” 

The final gown came from The Dotty Collection, combining the dramatic tulle skirt she loved with a top that felt truly her. 

That Magical “This Is The Dress” Feeling 

Many brides worry they won’t feel that magical moment everyone talks about. 

“I was really nervous that I wouldn’t get that feeling. Especially as I had been to a previous bridal shop and not had that feeling.” 

But once the dress was customised and she saw the full look come together, everything clicked. 

“As soon as I had my dress on with the custom top, I knew it was the one! I definitely got the feeling that everyone talks about.” 

A Wedding Day Full of Joy (and Plate Smashing!) 

When the big day finally arrived, every moment was unforgettable. 

“All of the day was just amazing, I loved every second of it!” 

The speeches were a highlight - especially when her dad surprised everyone. 

“My husband is Greek so my dad surprised us all and did a part of his speech in Greek!” 

The evening celebrations continued with a fun Greek tradition that got everyone involved. 

“We finished off the night with some plate smashing which was so fun!” 

She also discovered something unexpected about the ceremony itself. 

“I was surprised with how fun the ceremony was. I thought it would be serious but it was so fun!” 

The Moment Her Partner Saw the Dress 

Every bride dreams of that aisle moment - and this one was perfect. 

“He cried when I walked down the aisle, which was exactly the reaction I was hoping for, haha!” 

Advice for Brides Searching for Their Dream Dress 

After experiencing the journey herself, she has one key piece of advice for future brides. 

“Trust your bridal stylist completely - they know what they are doing!” 

And most importantly: 

“Just relax, enjoy trying on all the different dresses, and you will know when it’s your dress.”
