Dotty vs Dry Cleaning
Feeling the pressure to make your wedding a day of perfection? If so, we hope this blog helps to alleviate some stress by reassuring you that not everything has to go perfectly and as planned with your dress on your big day! Mishaps happen and that’s ok. We thought the best way to show you this was by asking some of our Dotty Brides who have now tied the knot, to send us some photos of their wedding dresses at the end of their big day!
We’ll start with one of our Dotty team members Issy, who got married in 2022. A day of celebrating and partying in the Lake district, getting scenic photographs taken outside and making memories, led Issy’s wedding dress to go from looking as beautiful as this at the start of the day…

It may pain you to see a gorgeous ‘white’ dress like this, but the point is Issy wouldn’t have changed anything about her special day for the world. She had the most amazing time! What’s important to remember is that the dress can be dry cleaned after the wedding and will soon look as good as new, but the memories last forever.
Don’t hold yourself back, remember this is your day to celebrate.
Also know that this is not a rare occurrence, countless brides will have some kind of mark on their wedding dress by the end of the day and honestly, at the time, you will be so caught up in the moment and filled with joy that you won’t even care and if you do, just remember the damage can always be fixed!

Despite working with wedding dresses and spending time taking the most care with them, we must admit seeing photos like these is great – after all a dirty dress is a true sign of a fabulous wedding!
We know how much stress and hard work goes into making your big day as magical as possible but your guests are there to love and support YOU ! They won’t be bothered if your hair has fallen throughout the day, your makeups smudged or your dress has mud all over the train. You and your partner are what make the wedding perfect, not how photogenic everything is.
We felt this blog was an important one for us the make. Especially at a time where there’s so much pressure for your day to look perfect like everybody else’s you see posted online. We just wanted to gently remind everyone that it’s not your job to be ‘perfect’ on your special day, it’s about celebrating the love you have for your nearest and dearest and having the time of your life, whatever that looks like for you!
